Homosexuality in Youth: a Pandemic


Despite the fact that we are amidst a global pandemic of unparalleled proportions, a darker, much more dangerous pandemic is spreading: homosexuality amongst the youth. What truly alerted many individuals and top evangelical researchers of this pandemic was the aftermath of the movie, Avengers: Endgame. The flick featured a man talking about his homosexual behavior for a whopping two whole minutes, and youth all across the country, and the world, started exhibiting homosexual behavior. For example, a young boy declared his disease to his parents, stating “I just want you to love me for who I am.” The parents made the very informed and humane decision of sending him off to conversion therapy which is proven to be one of the best methods of curing this disease. This, amongst many other examples, shows just how dire the situation is. 


Mass media was the first to be infected with this plague. Since Avengers: Endgame, the pathogen has
found its way into the media impressionable children consume. In popular kids television show, Arthur, there was a recent portrayal of the homosexual ‘union’ between teacher Mr. Ratburn and his male ‘partner’. This media is being fed directly to our youth! We cannot let our kids be exposed to the fact that heteronormativity is merely a western construct, and that the world is a much more diverse place than the Eurocentric, conformist world they come from. 

To put a stop to this pandemic, we need to address the problem at its source: the expansion of equal rights to all groups. Homosexuality is only becoming so prevelant because society is starting to give equal rights and protections to people with the disease. How ludicrous is that? Inalienable human rights are part of the foundation of the United States, and this directly infringes upon our right to oppress homosexuals! They want to be treated and protected equally, have marriage equality, AND be able to adopt? This greed is a symptom of the problem that we must fix for the sake of our country's future. We can’t just hand out rights to people willy-nilly, especially if we don’t agree with their existence. 

As we have seen, homosexuality is a rampant problem within the youth of our country. We are giving them opportunities to accept and love themselves as they are. This is absolutely unacceptable. They must conform to an outdated and ignorant western set of principles. Why? To preserve the integrity of our fragile constructs of safety and normality.

  Limerick and a Sentence.      I don’t mean for my blog to become a personal venting ground but I barely have the mental capacity to put together more than one coherent thought right now and I’ve spent way too much time trying to figure out how to pronounce anapestic trimeter in researching limericks for the purpose of writing one, but then I felt as though just five lines of poetry was a little too short to dedicate an entire blog post to so I ended up trying to write the longest sentence I could without losing focus disguised as an intro to my blog post- 100 words (at the ‘post’) exactly so far- just to prove that periods are optional and run-on sentences don’t exist, and finally, to loop back to a previous idea, here is my limerick.  Lobster of Gold There once was a lobster of old, Who sat on a pile of gold; The heat from the sun Cooked him- overdone, Forever the flavor of mold.

  The Hero's Journey- a Personal Take      “The hero's journey” is something I find myself thinking about a lot in a personal sense. The stories we consume about the hero’s journey contain great escapades, mighty stakes, and heroic protagonists. Even if these stories seem unrealistic, personal meaning can still be drawn from them. A prime example of the hero’s journey is Hermann Hesse’s Siddhartha . When reading the novel, especially part one, I couldn’t help but draw parallels between it and J. R. R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit , specifically the movie because it’s been a while since I read the book and it’s too long for me to feasibly reread any time soon.
